For an ecological culture

As part of its social responsibility, Mabe complies with all regulations of the usage of non toxic materials for any type of product. These regulations can change from country to country, however the company adheres to the most strict standards as part of its commitment with the environment.

The alliance between Mabe and GE also reflects in environmental policy. Both companies have shared information in order to standardize their norms, adopting the strictest standards. Today the ecological regulations of Mabe and GE are even more rigid than that of the legislation in the U.S.A

An example of this effort is that none of the components manufactured in Mabe may use lead or cadmium, which are highly toxic materials. All materials used comply with the regulatory standards of the EHS (Ecology, Hygiene and Security).

Also in the works is the implementation of the RoHS (“Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances") initiatives. As the name suggests, this is a directive from the European Community that will restrict the use of six dangerous substances in the manufacturing of electric and electronic equipment. This guideline is not yet enforced in any country of the American continent, but it implies severe limitations upon components that can be harmful.
